Question Gray Sealant?

What kind of gray sealant is used on the oil pan? I found Loctite gray rtv but didn't know if it is the right stuff to use. I thought I read somewhere that it is a special Ford/Intenational sealant.

Re: Gray Sealant?

I called my local International dealer and the parts guy said he didn't know of any special sealant. So it must be a Ford thing.

Re: Gray Sealant?

You can get it from a Ford dealer. If I remember correct it comes in caulk gun tubes.

Re: Gray Sealant?

Engine Sealant Goop
Motorcraft TA-31 F5TZ-19G204-AB

Intake Plenum Goop:
Motorcraft TA-30 F7AZ-191554-EA

Both come in 1/2 sized caulking gun tubes and fit standard caulking guns. 1/2 of a tube is more than enough to do two intake plenums. Make sure surfaces are throughly degreased before applying. Both sealants are great stuff.
