My water pump is begining to leak, I was wondering what water pumps you guys have used? Which one you think is best?

Also I was wondering which thermstat is best to use for my 7.3? I was thinking the 203 degree one, but whats your guy's opinions??

Re: Water Pump/Thermostat ?'s

I replaced mine last spring with one from NAPA. Works fine. I used the 192 degree. I changed to the 203 last week. Heater works better in cold weather. At least in mine it does. I bought my thermostats fro Ford.

If I had an F-series I would do the International pump with the filter in a minute....
In a Van it is a retarded amount of work for the rad plumbing.... I bought all Dealer ( Ford ) parts when I did it ......Was like 400 bucks with my trade price ....with coolant and DCA ....

Re: Water Pump/Thermostat ?'s

I have found a water pump without the bolt on down elbow, its all one piece. Its not cheap, but I think it will be a good and not prone to leaking. I am going to buy the 203 degree thermostat as well. But then again I work at a ford dealership and can get water pump, thermostat, tensioner, idler, and some coolant for about 391 dollars!! It will all be motorcraft. So I might go that route as well.

Am I missing something here? My NAPA pump was all one piece. Only bolt on part was the upper pipe where the thermostat houses.

Re: Water Pump/Thermostat ?'s

They must have updated all the NAPA ones!! Thats a good thing you mentioned that!! All the ones I have been looking at online have been the bolt on style.

I think I gave around $180.00 for it.
