dana 60 carrier pin question

I just picked up a dana 60 for cheap, and pulled the front cover and looking at the carrier realized there is no bolt to hold the pin into the carrier, anyone know if there is supposed to be one? I would assume so

Re: dana 60 carrier pin question

Is the bolt missing or did someone break it off trying to remove it. It is pretty common for it to break if the pin got tweaked at all.

Re: dana 60 carrier pin question

Then the bolt is just plain missing in action for some reason. The pin needs to be in there to keep the spider gears in place. The bolt is supposed to be there in order to keep the pin in place.
