Re: Bosch Glow Plugs?

I got these from a friend that sold his psd. It's getting cold here in Michigan. Getting quite a bit of smoke on start-up. The relay is new. The plugs have almost 100,000 miles on them. Probably wouldn't hurt to change them. Just curious what people have to say about them.

OEM Motorcraft/Beru plugs are just north of $10 apiece. Hardly worth trying to second-guess any other brand, given that at least one aftermarket brand (Autolite) are well-known for swelling in the head.

Re: Bosch Glow Plugs?

Let me tell you, its not worth it. Buy OEM Motorcraft/Beru. When I got my truck with 89,000 miles on the clock the previous owners had replaced one glow plug (rear drivers side) with an Autolite. Well when I changed all 8 this past winter and added the Stancor relay guess which glowplug the truck went into the shop for? Thats right all 7 OEM ones came out, but the last one ended up costing me $700.

Re: Bosch Glow Plugs?

Thanks. Guess I'll nix the Bosch idea. The part number I've found for Motorcraft ZD11 is F4TZ 12A342 BA. My truck is a '95 cab and chassis. Does that sound right?
