Glow Plug problems!!!!!!

Well my truck was starting hard. So I checked my glow plug relay and found it to be bad. Installed a known good one I had laying around and it started better. Then I checked my glow plugs and found cly #1 to be bad. So I removed the valve cover and UVH. I started to remove the glow plug and it was going good until I pulled it completely out, just to find the probe still in the head F***. The probe must have swelled up and got stuck, the rod that goes from the probe to the tip of the glow plug is still connected. I tried wiggling it with a pair of pliers, but didn't try too hard cause I didn't want to break it and then have to pull the head.

Do you guys have any ideas without having to pull the head off?? I can still drive the truck as is, thank god!!! Just trying to find out a way to pull it out without breaking it

Re: Glow Plug problems!!!!!!

Long-nose ViseGrips and some carb cleaner (or Mercury PowerTune is supposed to be good for this) and slowly work it out would be my suggestion. Cheers!

Re: Glow Plug problems!!!!!!

Thanks man! I read some other forums, and found vise grips in all of them haha. Dad and I went to harbor freight for some cheap vise grips, then getting my dent puller from work and some PB blaster!!! This should be interesting!!
