Motor died out of nowhere

I have a 96 f350 powerstroke that died this morning on my way to school. When I cranked it this morning it sounded like it was running weak, but then was running fine when I got back outside. I was going about 45 and the motor died out and would not crank again. My fuel filter and water in fuel lights came on. I drained some fuel out of the bowl, but it didn't help. I change the cam
shaft sensor and the number 22 fuse and it cranked back up, but the motor is skipping bad and really jumpy. Any ideas of what it may be?

Re: Motor died out of nowhere

Is the check engine light on? Check the oil level. Check the wiring harness connections at the valvecovers for evidence of melting/burning. Remove the oil cap and see if it smells like burned wiring insulation. Cheers!

Re: Motor died out of nowhere

Maybe you drained too much diesel and got air in the fuel system, hence running like ####? And have you ever cleaned fpr screen?

Re: Motor died out of nowhere

Binder man, I'm gonna have to check that because the morning it started doing it was the first really cold morning we've had this year. But once the truck is running would the heater being out still make it skip?

Re: Motor died out of nowhere

It will stop fuse 22 from blowing which is also the same fuse that powers the PCM.
