Help me with my damned oil leak....
I've been fighting this pedistal leaking for 3 months now. First it was just a minor weep. Pulled it, replaced both sets of o-rings with ones from dieselorings.
Still leaked, worse...
Month later when I had the time redid the seals again, this time I also did a new EBPV
delete pedestal and Ford brand o-rings. the following pix show how/where its been leaking over the last 60 miles. I'm tired of it staining my drive-way, is there something I'm missing?
I DID NOT use any form of silicone on either surface, and tightened the bolts down quite tight, I actually broke my 1/4" 10mm swivel socket.
The oil buildup here is over the last 3 months, not the past 60 miles.
This is what has developed over the past 60 miles, definetly from the turbo pedestal.
Should I have used RTV on the 4 pedestal to turbo bolts? and again where the pedestal meets the block? From the way the oil looks, it seems as if its coming from the turbo/pedestal surface.
