97 F350 7.3 PS

I have a '97 late production F350 7.3 PS. It will start and run fine if I use it daily. If not then a 1/2 second squirt of ether and it will start and run fine for the day. If it sits for more than a couple days between starts, the ether is the only way I can get it started. My mechanic mentioned something about a fuel line check valve located somewhere near the filter. His research found this part to be obsolete by Ford and the only source he could find was International, (400 bucks +) and even then he wasn't sure this would be the fix. Any ideas?

Swap out the entire mechanical system for an inline pump regulated return style system... granted it's more expensive than 400 but it gets rid of all the mechanical system issues and you'll need it if you decide to modify the truck in the future

If your rating to save money the junk yard route is probably your best option... just remember though there is no guarantee on junk yard parts actually working... try Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market
