magnetic rear bench seat - yes for real

so this is got to be the most unexplainable thing i noticed on my 97 eclb. when i was cleaning out under the rear bench i noticed that anything metal would stick to the middle bottom of the bench. im like wtf? can anyone explain whats in the seat that would cause this? there's no box or speakers or anything like that. just a bone stock bench seat.

Re: magnetic rear bench seat - yes for real

Metal to metal contact of certain metals which rub together can create a magnetic field over time. If someone had a speaker jammed under the seat and it was rubbing that could cause it. Other than that it is anyone's guess as to why.
