01 Heads on a 96.

I got a 96 7.3 and the heads had a hole in them. I have the motor out of the truck right now and the heads off. I happen to have a set of 01 heads off a 7.3. I heard all the heads are interchangeable. But I wasnt sure if the head bolts, head gaskets and manifolds were all the same. Just wondering what parts to order? Thank you

Same heads newer engine is all. The only difference between the 94.5-03 engines is that when they went to the superduty in the early 99 superduty they eliminated the hole in the valley for the mechanical fuel pump as they went electric and they changed the accessories around on the front of the engine. The heads are the same. Some internals such as the connecting rods were changed to powdered rods from forged rods.
