Got a nice 97 Powerstroke that will start and idle good. But as soon as you step on the GO pedal it dies??? Whats the problem here? Truck has 155k miles.

Re: HPOP???

Providing your fuel filter is clean, and fpr screen is clean, the truck needs a scaner on it. Tgeres way too many possibilities guessing

Re: HPOP???

The first thing that I would check is the fuel pressure.

96 F250 XLT 4x4, 4:10 gears, 5 speed, Tymar intake and HX hose, downpipe, pyro and boost guages, coolant filter, Luc clutch

Re: HPOP???

10-4... I should have known that. What the deal is- Im looking at buying this one. And the ad said mechanical issues. So i called and the described the issue to me. He said that he put new filters in it not to long ago and thats all he done. wants to get rid of it b4 he sinks alot of money into it. The way you check the fuel pressure is on the side of the fuel filter bowl theres a pressure fitting just like a tire. just check it there??? what should it be reading???

Re: HPOP???

Yes its the schrader valve on the side of the fuel bowl. Should be at least 40 psi
