No compression

Did a comp test on truck today and one cyl has no comp.Has alot of blow by to. Is it possible to have burned a piston? Just dont make no sense, was not running the truck hard or anything, just normal driving, running 70 on interstate when happened. Hoping someone can shed some light on this. It happened all of s sudden, no sign or anything.

Re: No compression

Lots of blow by and no compression would indicate a failure of either the piston or rings. How many miles on the truck?

Re: No compression

Motor itself has about 320,000 on it. I pulled it out at about 287,000 and put rings, bearings, had the injectors rebuilt and had the heads freshened up and have not had one single prob out of it to now.
