Best MPG yet

I topped off both tanks this morning and headed from Snohomish WA to Yacolt near Battleground. I drove to Seattle averaging about 70mph. I picked up a good friend to ride along and made out way south through Tacoma, Olympia towards our destination. I set the cruise at 65mph on the truck speedometer. My gps averaged 62 to 63 mph and fluctuated between the two. At Woodland we exited I-5 and headed towards Yacolt to pick up a swaybar and mounts for my truck. Backroads speed averaged 40mph up and down hills and I had the transmission locked out of overdrive. After collecting used parts we headed home. At Dan's house in Seattle my front tank mileage was 360 miles. I dropped him off and headed N to Snohomish. I switched tanks at 385 miles on the front tank. When I made it to town I stopped and topped off the front tank at 17.5 gallons. My average fuel economy was 22mpg. I think I could do better with a little less speed and less backroads being travelled. I know I could possibly pull down 23 mpg driving the interstate. Today was my best fuel economy to date.

Re: Best MPG yet

Maybe someone could clue me in how to fill out my signature. I would like to add my trucks Mods. 1995 f-250 cc 4wd. Auto, 4.10 gears. Tymar, 3" dp 4"exhaust. Valve body, Tru-cool, trans filter. Oil bypass filter, evans coolant and filter, full guage package. In progress 2.5" pmf reverse shackle superduty v&B code springs dana 60. Soon to come ccv mod and some sort of tuner. As far as I know it is running stock tune. Previous owner kept the tuner. I have all the service records since new. I wanted a f-350 four door but settled for 250 cc because I found a low mileage clean used one with all the service records and window sticker. I love the truck just not the color. Tire size is 2558516 on stock alcoas.

Re: Best MPG yet

I once drove 55-60 mainly highway on that run and got 24 so speed does help a little. But it was hard to go only 55. Normally I get 18 driving 80 on highway and a lot of country hilly driving.

3in DP, 4 in straight, e fuel, Regulated return/ bowl delete, air dog 165, banjo bolts drilled out, ts 6 pos chip, HPX line, intercooler, EBPV delete, CCV mod, Valair Clutch

Re: Best MPG yet

I seem to be averaging 16-18mpg while keeping it under 75 mph on the Highway. The truck is all stock, even the 235/85's. It's a 4x4 auto with 4.10's. I guess I should really look into a downpipe and even an airfilter huh?
