VSS wire near cab?

I'm looking to install an Overhead console with outside temps and compass out of an Explorer, and I need to tap into the VSS signal for the temp sensor to work right. Anyone know where I could tap into VSS WIRING in/near the cab, and what color it is in a 97 CC PSD? thanks.

Re: VSS wire near cab?

It needs a VSS signal?
I know they are red and green wires with tracers. You could probably pick it up at the PSOM at the back of the cluster

Looking for Blue 40-20-40 seat for OBS. PM me if any known

Re: VSS wire near cab?

Thanks Brad. Yep it needs the VSS to correct for wind chill.

Re: VSS wire near cab?

For a 97 it would be circuit 679. It is a Gray/Black Trace wire off the PSOM connector (I had it hooked up on my 94 with the Explorer console). Cheers!

Re: VSS wire near cab?

As Patrick said, pull the dash console. It's not to difficult, done it several times. If you need instructions, let me know.

Splice into the wire there.
I added the temp console to mine and it looks nice.
