Strange Oil Leak

So I have seen oil under my truck the last couple days. Finally got time to take a peak under there.

The valley is bone by the fuel pump and under the turbo (just redid the fuel system in this anyway cause of a leak)

The turbo pedistal doesnt look like its leaking, the EBPV doesnt look like its leaking. So I climbed under it to look. Rear of the head on the passenger side is dry the plugs look fine.

Can't see the rear of the drivers head, but rand my hand around up there and it feels dry. The plug on the side of the head is dry, and its not leaking from the valve cover.

You can see it leaking right under the manifold donuts back there on the ear of the bellhousing.

I know its oil too, dip stick is reading low now.

Any ideas?

Re: Strange Oil Leak

High pressure oil gallery oring boss plug has leaking o-ring? There are several plugs on each head.

You may try packing the engine valley with rags, run engine and then check for the wet spot.

Re: Strange Oil Leak

The valley is dry as a whistle.

My initital thought was the HPO plugs in the back of the head but I couldnt feel anything. Im gonna take a look with a mirror as soon as I can now.

Oil cooler is not wet at all either.

Re: Strange Oil Leak

X2 on oil filter question? And check your gallery plugs on side of the block, its just a male 1/4 plug. Also, is your dipstick nut on the side of the pan tight?

It was like this when I got the truck. Has an amsoil kit on it. It goes out to the front bumper on the Ranch Hand. Two HUGE amsoil filters on it. It has a little drain valve too for oil anaylsis, but I dont do that. With the amsoil filters they are rated for 20,000 miles and are built specifically for the PSD diesels. I will go probably 7-8 with them and change it.

From all the plugs I can see they look tight, The dip stick is not even close to where this one is leaking, but it is also dry. I am baffled by this leak.

Re: Strange Oil Leak

How about the corner of the value cover or your oil cooler for the leak.

I have checked the valve cover, I didnt take it off but it isnt leaking from the valve cover.

The oil cooler is way further forward, but also it is not leaking, that was one of my first thoughts.
