No heat parked?

i noticed if i let my truck idle the temp will get to normal on the gauge but the heat coming from the vents isn't that hot, also the one heater hose gets hot and the other is cool . but the minute i start driving the heat gets hot coming out of the vents to the point you have to turn it off. anyone experience this???

Low coolant level? Air trapped in the heater core?

Re: No heat parked?

coolant is right inbetween the lines in the tank. i couldn't see it being air because as soon as i drive its hot.

Sounds like either a restriction or you water pump is not up to snuff.

Re: No heat parked?

Disconnect the filter and see if you have heat, that might be your problem. How long has that filter been in there? Maybe its plugged? My '00 sd gasser had that same heat problem, i had a cracked head and air was getting trapped in my heater core.

Re: No heat parked?

If it is on the filter side, I would say that is the issue right there.
