Interested in a 97 f250 7.3l, few questions

This would be my first diesel and I was wondering what should I be looking for when checking out a truck? Any specific sounds? start up issues etc? Are these best test driven on highway or stop and go , so I can recognize any issues? What about eh 7.3l in these years? Are they as stout as others, any common issues?

Depending where you live, RUST can be a big problem.

As for the engine its self, Not too much in the way of problems.

If it starts and runs, that is 99% of it right there.

Pull the oil fill on the valve cover, flip it over and cover the hole with it. If the blow by blows the cap off, it is a lot. If not, then you will be fine.

Look for oil in the coolant, signs of bad oil cooler or o-rings. Easy enough to fix, but can use it as a bargaining chip

Looking for Blue 40-20-40 seat for OBS. PM me if any known
