Finally got around to doing the
CCV mod, previous owner gave me a kit he purchsed and never installed.
So, I pulled the
ccv off flipped it around. Plumbed it into the canister, then back into the factory piping.
Fire the truck up, didnt sound quite the same....
Pull the dipstick up, it sprays/bubbles oil out all over the place..Put it back in.
Go to unscrew the cap, just before its all the way loose it hisses and releases pressure?!?
Check dipstick again, still spits/bubbles oil out.
Needless to say, I put the factory set-up back on. NO oil spitting, and no pressurized crankcase?
Did I do something wrong and clog the breather? Or is this uncovering a problem.
Also.. how much oil is too much "going into" the turbo? I assume the oil in the following pic is from the
CCV going into the intake. For what it's worth the Previous owner said he had rebuild it 6 months prior to me purchasing the truck. (1 year ago now)
I felt NO shaft play, neither up/down, or in/out, the fins also felt very smooth.
Peak boost is typically 26PSI steady. :) (That normal for a chip/intake/exhaust truck)
