Fuel filter housing sensors

Quick question, sensor on the lower back of the housing directly above the bottom fuel line and the part #. I finally got around to replace my pump thinking it was the leak well while putting it back together and found the leak....at least I have a new pump on my truck now. Thanks in advance

Re: Fuel filter housing sensors

On your truck it is the fuel restriction sensor (a known leaker!). It lights up the fuel filter light when the filter is getting restrictive. Part is usually only available from Ford for about $50 and since most folks don't want to get another only to have it leak again, we just plug it with a 1/8 NPT plug (especially in the location on the earlier trucks ... later OBS trucks had it on the FPR block where it is easier to access). Not a big deal if you are good about filter changing. Here's the part number:

Fuel Filter Restriction Sensor
(Ford) E8TZ-9S283-A

Cheers!

Re: Fuel filter housing sensors

Nope. It is only a switch for the filter light on the dash. Cheers!
