Fuel Starvation?

I have a 96 f250. A couple of weeks ago I was driving and suddenly lost power and had a horrible knocking. There wasn't white smoke while I was limping home. Since parking it I have changed the uvc harnesses and valve cover gaskets and went ahead and changed the cps. Its still runs horribly, there is white smoke on startup but it has since I purchased it and its never been a problem before. I really dont want to think injectors but the thought does cross my mind constantly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
