Tailgate emblem position

Anyone have measurements for the holes in the tailgate for the Ford oval emblem position? I've removed the aluminum tailgate panel and want to put a Ford emblem like on the 97 tailgates. Anyone ever seen a good way to cover those panel holes? I was thinking maybe some chrome plugs, reflectors, or maybe lights?

Anyone? Is there a shortage of tape measures?

Should be able to use a 92+ XL/custom gate. They were smooth with a Ford letter decal stuck on.

Re: Tailgate emblem position

The absolute center of the emblem is 7 7/8" up from the bottom of the tailgate and 5 11/16" in from the side of the gate.

You just need to keep an eye on things like CL. I picked up a 93 tailgate that sat in a warehouse for 18 years for $50. They took it off the truck when it was new to install a power liftgate. I've seen several ads for good gates up here and this is part of the rust belt.
