Hard Brake Pedal

Is it the vacuum pump, or master cylinder? Or something else?

Brake pedal is very hard, and is very hard to stop the truck. I have auto locking hubs and 4wd works fine though, at least I dont noticed any difference. Vacuum pump and master cylinder looks like original equipment, but im not for sure.

I just dont feel like wasting the money on something I don't need when its something else.

Re: Hard Brake Pedal

that is your vacume pump, there easy to replace, but something about leaving the bolts in the pump when you put the new wheel on...guess you cant put them in after with the wheel on

Re: Hard Brake Pedal

Most likely the vacuum pump as mentioned. You can get the pump off the engine without removing the pulley by completely removing the bolts that will come off and backing off the one that won't. When you go to put the new one on, you will need to put the one bolt through the correct mounting bolt hole BEFORE putting the pulley on the new pump. Cheers!
