Fuel pump replace

I know probably been covered but didn't find it. How do I remove the cover that looks like the Starship enterprise? It say Bosch on it. it's part way under turbo. It has to come off before pump comes out so I can get to banjo bolt, right? Mike

Re: Fuel pump replace

Must be a Cali truck. That piece I don't believe comes off, you have to work around that to get to the banjo bolt.

Re: Fuel pump replace

yes it is a cali truck. What purpose is it? Would it be faster to pull the turbo? and will a regular pump fit and work? Mike

Re: Fuel pump replace

That is for the split shot injectors. Its a pulse dampener. Unless your running single shots I blieve you will still need it.

No you dont need to pull the turbo and its faster if you dont, also you can pull the dampener counter clock wise if you want to, but not neccesary. and it could work with a regular pump but Im agree with biggreen96.
I dont have a link in this PC to do that, but if you want, Ill be there in the afternoon, if you want it, let me know.

Re: Fuel pump replace

Well I got the fuel pump out but the pulsater thing I couldn't get it off. It spins around on it's self where it is put together. Not a big deal cause i did get other pump on. Unless that will leak. Is that possible? Mike
