Re: help! injectors?pump? rings?

I didn't check for codes. I don't have anything to do check with. I just got the truck last summer and ran it for 20,000+ mi.
I will add that the truck wont start below 75 degrees or there abouts. (I keep it plugged in all the time)Sometimes when I start it it does several seconds of hard lopes, at idle. But then instantly smoothes out and runs great but seems to lack power that I expected. Or at least till now.

I start the truck, take off, all ok, a few miles down the road it starts running rough. Like it's running out of fuel. Rough idle, no power, rev up an strong fuel smell with intense blue smoke.
I was thinking bad injectors,, but I don't know much. Looking for you guys advice

Re: help! injectors?pump? rings?

It's hardley ever the injectors ... I would check your fuel pressure and smell the oil cap....Pressure should be over 50 psi at idle and If you smell burn't plastic when you nose the cap you have burn't UVC harnessess or Engine harness clips or both ..... so you need to take VC 's off to check that ...

I don't mean any disrespect, but what's UVC? (under valve cover?
)

He was mentioning the harnesses under the valve covers.. They supply power to your injectors and glow plugs...

Re: help! injectors?pump? rings?

^ what they said. Also if you smell strong fuel obviously check for fuel leaks. Specially in the valley near the pump.

Re: help! injectors?pump? rings?

I think I'm misunderstood, the strong fuel smell is in the exhaust. There's nothing leaking anywhere.

Ok just making sure as that could mean bad fuel pump if it's leaking.
