97 stroker running issue

ok here it is folks...i just rescued a 1997 f250 4x4 crewcab 5 speed 7.3 from the junk yard. was hard to start but had sat in a field for sometime i was told...once fired ran great drove it around town all day checking it out nothing out of the ordinary. jumped on the interstate and seemed very under powered then it died.. replace cam sensor after beeing towed home....finally restarted driving like a champ around town again....get up to 55-60 2300rpms or more cough choke shutter die....towed home again...fire back up runs good start into throttle slowly 2300rpm cough choke then clears out ....lots o smoke at this point then you can rev it pertty well...slap test the pettel and ealier results come back...put charger on truck go to bed beating myself up....wake up hit the key sputter sputter sputter....wont fire NOTE:batteries in truck are weak from the yard not in great shape for this truck 2 amp charge all night few cranks there done...checked fuel filter looks good plenty of fuel preasure electrical system looks good so help me please....not my first diesel but first stroker
