D-60 KP/BJ interchangeability question

I have a 94 Balljoint SRW Dana 60 out of a parts truck. I want to take this axle and make it a DRW. I have located the 4x4 DRW hub adapter out of an 89 Kingpin F350.

Are the 4x4 DRW hub adapters interchangeable between Balljoint and Kingpin?

Yep, the SRW/DRW hubs interchange on the different years, 86-97 D50/D60.

What's the procedure for removing these hubs? I'll have to bring tools with me to get them off this guys truck.

Re: D-60 KP/BJ interchangeability question

Pull the lockout hubs & bearings off like you were changing the rotor. It will all come off as one unit. Then unbolt the hub from the rotor & install onto your net rotor.

Garret, are you SURE on this? I was told there was a spacing difference between a KP and BJ dually adapter. Or possibly it was pin style caliper to a bolt on style caliper

A minor difference that you can't see with your eye, but if you bolt on a KP dually hub to a BJ axle, the rotor hits the rotor mounting flange. Or maybe it was the other way around

Looking for Blue 40-20-40 seat for OBS. PM me if any known

Are the knuckles interchangeable between a 97 F250 and a F350?
How about the caliper bracket and the outer stub shafts? I know the spindles are different.

Hmmm, I can't say for sure then Brad. I figured if the SRW hubs are the same then the duallys should be as well but I donno.

I am told the knuckles are different. I know the axle stubs are different, and not sure of the caliper bracket

Like i said, that is what i was told, but not sure how true it was. But the guy who told me that has about 15 c-n-c trucks that he does all of his own servies to so....

Re: D-60 KP/BJ interchangeability question

The deal fell through.

But it would be nice to find a definite answer to this. It'd be a pain to fid out the hard way that they don't interchange.

Ok just wanted to know where I am headed. I finally got to tinker with mine gettiing it stripped down and cleaned up. The spindle bearing on one side has a lot of slop so I am betting new stub shaft on that side.
