WHAT THE #$%^

Ok here is the deal, I just replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter on the truck last week. This week my fuel filter light will come on when when I go WOT but when I let off the light would turn off. Then out of no where the light came on and the fuel pressure dropped to 0. My quick thinking I switch tanks hopeing that the truck would still run. Will the light turned off and my pressure went back up to 55 psi. What the hell is going on here? I am lost.

why would it run fine again if I switched tanks. is there something in the tank that feeds the fuel pump that could have gone bad like a fuel pick up or something?

Re: WHAT THE #$%^

Are you sure the tank is full? Could be the sending unit is bad and the tank is actually empty?

Re: WHAT THE #$%^

Sorry, I misunderstood. Fuel pickup may be comprised or line to tank.

Re: WHAT THE #$%^

well I switched tanks again down the rod from the house and the fule filter light came on 5-10 seconds after the switch but fuel pressure was about 40-45 psi. I did it about a mile from the house so I am going to try and do it a bit further later t see if it will loose pressure.

Re: WHAT THE #$%^

I'm having similar issues but is happening on all of my tanks. My fuel pressure regulator screen is clean this time. Thought it was the culprit before as it was completely clogged. But it is wide open now and 100 miles later same issue. Hopefully you can figure it out. Might help me as well.
