Driveline Vibration

well iv noticed that iv had a vibration at my feet on the floor board. well i thought it was my front shaft cause we noticed the yoke was loose. well its out and damn vibration is there. its constant when your over 30mph. gets worse the faster you go. the only time it goes away is when you turn left or push the clutch in. other than that its there. the truck has 168,000 on it. i noticed it a lil bit after a truck pull last summer. i woulnt think the u joints would be bad. could it be in my trans or t case?

any ideas?

Thanks,
Jacob

Re: Driveline Vibration

Poss a clutch issue if your saying it happened after a truck pull.

Re: Driveline Vibration

my guess would be that since it doesnt do it when turning its a front axle u-joint, but if your front end is not locked in and your transfer case is is 2 wheel drive your front end should not spin!

Re: Driveline Vibration

Does the steering wheel re-center after you round a corner (like at a street intersection) or do you have to re-center it?

Vibrates on excelleration and deceleration? What about if you lightly apply brakes on excel and deceleration? As noted above put it on jack stands and check for play at all universals, pinion nuts, yokes and pillow block.

Re: Driveline Vibration

well nothing changes while braking with accel or decel. but im starting to think that the vibration is coming from another area. i was sitting in the driveway and i could feel a slight vibration. revved it up and the higher i went the worse it got. the same one i had felt before. any ideas?

off topic but anyone know the socket size for the yoke on the front output of the t case? mine is loose and leaking. i have the sizes but they are all thick wall sockets.
