Clutch slip

Ok. so i put a different set of tires on my 97 tonight and i want to test drive it and see if they rubbed(they do).

For a little backgound. I bought my 97 about 2 months ago.
97 CCSB 7.3 5 speed 4:10s Napa air filter, DP f4 chip, rest is all stock. O and it is a Cali truck.

On the way home from buying it from the dealer, i wanted to see what the truck would do. Well i turned the chip up and goosed it. And the clutch slipped. It is fine with the chip in the 1st positon but beyond that the clutch slips. So I only have been driving it in the 1st position, till I put clutch in.

Anyway today I decided to turn my chip up and flog it a little. Well there was no clutch slip and I broke the tires loose in 2 gears, on clean gravel free road.

What gives?

Looking for Blue 40-20-40 seat for OBS. PM me if any known

Re: Clutch slip

Maybe the clutch was a little wet with oil when you bought it (rear main seal). Now that you drive it daily, it stays fairly dry.

Re: Clutch slip

It just just a OE clutch. There is a small leak of some variety up in the valley, but this is the first time i even started the truck in 2 weeks. I only have put 500 miles on it in 2 months The last time i had it out(2 weeks ago) the clutch slipped in stage 2
