clearing codes

How do I clear the codes from the pcm on a 97 powerstroke.

You need a code reader that has the abilty to read and scan the codes on these trucks.

#### ok i was able to get the codes out of it with a oreillys code reader but i don't know if it well remove them after i replace the cps and icp

It should give the option to clear the codes depending on how good the scanner is.

Disconnect the batteries for 5 minutes ....

Thanks guys kind of learning not used to having to work on it myself. Ill just unhook the batteries while im changing the icp and the oil tomorrow.
