Calli truck fuel pump ?

A buddy of mine bought a 96 from callifornia and the fuel pump is leaking. My question is, does the turbo have to come off to get it out with that dampener on the back of the pump? If not how do you do it?

Re: Calli truck fuel pump ?

Im pretty sure the cali trucks are the same as others in this perspective. No you dont have to take the turbo off to change the pumps. Everything unbolts and comes right out. Drain the fuel bowl first so you dont flood the engine valley.

Re: Calli truck fuel pump ?

I think its a bit more difficult on the Cali split trucks, but I've heard it can be done. I really need to get out and look at mine so I can make a special tool if needed. Cheers!

Re: Calli truck fuel pump ?

Yes it can be changed without removing the turbo. Not sure if you must remove the damper also or not but it is a pain in the butt.
