truck went to hell fast, please help

i was on my lunch break and started my truck to go home, it turned over fast and started and idled fine like always then maybe 30-45 seconds later the idle dropped down and the truck shook violently and died, i changed the fuel filter real fast and was able to start it and keep it running by working the throtle but no power what so ever... i was able to limp it 2 miles home, now the truck will start but the idle is horrable, best way i can describe it would be its missing, or running on 6 cylinders. what can i try to dignose it? or any tests? im good with a wrench but this is my first diesel.

truck specs:
1997 f350 4x4
recently changed, batteries, glow plugs, pgr, starter

the truck has been running perfect then its like somebody fliped a switch and now its crap.

thanks for any help guys

Re: truck went to hell fast, please help

Check all your external harness connections to the valvecovers. Also remove the oil cap and take a sniff. Smell like burned/melted wiring insulation? If it does you probably have injector wiring harness issues. Cheers!
