95 F250 7.3 Wont Start

Truck has been sitting for years. Ran three years ago. Replaced batteries, Changed fuel filter after cleaning out fuel bowl. Cleared drain tube. Replaced Crankshaft position sensor. Tanks have always been full of fuel. I have fuel in the schrader valve on the regulator while cranking. Where do I start troubleshooting? Could the alarm be not allowing it to fire? Thanks.

yeah the alarm could be the problem, make sure the tach is moving when cranking and check ALL the fuses. also check the hpop res, it should be 1" below the top full of oil.

Do you get smoke out the tailpipe when cranking?

Does the WTS light come on?

Is the tach moving?

Also, if the fuel is years old, its prolly too low on cetane. i would start with pumping the fuel out of the tanks and replacing it with new along with some stanadyne fuel additive.
It may also help to have the truck plugged in for an hour or so before trying to fire it, depending on the weather in your area.
Another thing you should check, pull the fuel filter housing cap off and have somone crank it over while you watch to see if the fuel filter housing is filling up properly.

No smoke, Tach is not working. WTS light cycles on and off once like normal.

What CPS did you put in there? You should be reading about 150 rpms or so when cranking.

tach not working is the key, check fuses, you should have a blown fuse

Tach does work. HPOP has oil in it. I cant see smoke. I am in the process of removing the aftermarket alarm. Wiring disaster. I dont have the original keyless entry clicker. Hope I dont need it to deactivate the factory anti theft.

95powersmoker I was wondering how fair should the needle move when cranking? When I crank it just barely moves, but mine starts. After it starts the engine light stays on it idles for a few minutes and just dies. I do it again and it dies then start a third time the light goes out and it runs but idles a little rough. I had put a alternator on yesterday and then another today. Could this be related? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh i checked with a snap-on scanner and no codes.

Mine usually gets to about 150-200 when cranking.

As far as your truck dying three times... Next time before you go to start the truck, check your HPOP Reservoir. It should be withing 1/2" of the top.

Anytime the CEL comes on, it should store a code. Maybe need to try a different scanner. What year is your truck?
