Electrical - Door locks
Re: 2015 F250 6.7L Power Stroke.
The passenger door lock works OK. It opens and closes using the drivers side door keypad and the push buttons on both keys.
The drivers door is a different story.
The door will lock normally using the door keypad and the push buttons on both keys.
But, the door will not unlock electrically by any means.
I removed the Power Door Lock Actuator in the door lock and took the motor out of it.
On the workbench, I applied 12 volt DC to the motor and it ran fine CW. Then I reversed polarity of the 12 volt DC to the motor and it ran fine CCW.
When installed in the door it works one way but not the other so I ruled out fuse issues.
Is this pointing me to a VSM issue?
Is there a relay or module that I am not finding that gets a command from the VSM to apply power to the Power Door Lock Module to lock and unlock the door?
FYI - The batteries under the hood are fully charged. Just to make sure, I had them on a charger all night long to ensure 12 volt DC power was not an issue.
Both of the batteries are less than 1 year old. And, I have a battery load tester and I disconnected both batteries and load tested them and they passed like new ones.
So, I have ruled out low voltage as being the culprit.
