Fluid Leak Under Dash

Hey Guys,

I seem to be having some type of fluid leaking from under the driver side dash of my 2012 f250. Its coming from the black hose with the yellow cap on the end.

Anyone have similar issues or know what this could be?

Thanks!

Iím fairly confident thatís gonna be your brake booster. Is your power-steering reservoir low? Or your brake fluid?

Let us know.

Thanks for the reply. I will check the power steering fluid when I get home. As for the brake fluid, I cant imagine it would be low.

Re: Fluid Leak Under Dash

Well, your power steering fluid and your brake fluid run into the same booster together. Seals inside of it can go had, and rupture into the cab. They will the drip down the rod into the truck, sometimes inside the shaft and sometimes out, sounds like in your case it could be an internal leak if your booster, itís whoís guess is itís steering or brakes, my 0.02

Thank you! I appreciate the info. Im going to check the fluid level. Hopefully I don't end up needing a new pump.

Had mine replace almost a year ago with a reman. It was $500 out the door. Best way to swap it if you do it yourself (I didnít due to not wanting to break brake lines accidentally) removing the driver side front wheel and fender lining is the way to go.
