CB whip antenna

Hey all,
Anyone ever put their whip antenna in the middle of their roof with a ball mount? I figure my truck is way to big to do serious off-roading but am still concerned about low branches on firebreaks. Any imput or ideas would be appreciated.

Re: CB whip antenna

I though about doing a whip on the roof of my truck but figured, like you said, that it would be too high. Went with a dual 4' Fikestik setup with springs, mounted to the front side of my toolbox, from Right Channel Radios. I still hit the overhangs at most fast food places, which the springs come in very handy for. Also, I really didn't care for the idea of drilling into my roof or having a magnetic mount up on top. Just my $0.02, sorry I couldn't be more help.
