Hid kits which is the best value

Im looking for a set of Hid headlights, And am still at the browsing around point because i don't know much about them, I can tell you this i want the best bang for the buck, high and low beams if possible and Im really not sure on the brightness really kind of stuck between the 8,000k with the light blue tint or the 10,000k with a slightly deeper blue, at what point do i lose visibility and the lighting's just for a bling factor.?

Thanks any input would be appreciated.

Re: Hid kits which is the best value

Im in the same boat as you..im lookin at some HIDs as well. Im fixin to get some black halos that coms with a HID kit and 8000k bulbs. All for under off 200 off ebay. Id say 8k is the highest you would prolly go before loosing brightness vs the light color...if that makes sense.

Re: Hid kits which is the best value

Meh, I had a set of 8k HID's, and from my experience I would suggest a 6k.

The bright blue(8k-10k) looks cool, but the headlight glare is terrible. 6k HID's have about the most effective light output as well... the 8k's I had looked cool and all, but they don't light up the road as well as a 6k will.

IMO, go with the 6k if you want the best light output. Or go with the 8k kit if you want the blue tint....

Here are my 8k's when they were installed on my Ranger. Quite honestly, the light output with the stock halogen bulbs and stock headlights on my OBS F250 blows that Ranger with 8k HID's away.

That's my $.02

Re: Hid kits which is the best value

i would say 95% of the HID kits i sell are all 6k... IMO anything higher are just too blue... the lower the number (up to a point) the brighter it is....

here is a pic of my truck with 6k lights on headlights and fog lights
