xl to xlt...power options....

My supercab is a rust bucket. ..I'm looking for a crew cab for short $ to swap everything over.
I found one but its an XL 5.4. I'm not worried about the engine and instrument wiring, that can swap right over. My concern is with the body wiring. Is the wiring already there in the body harness for power windows and locks? (Like could I just swap my frt door harnesses buy rear door harnesses and plug them in and instal the regulators and latches??) What about the gem from a SC to CC? .

I don't mind gutting both trucks if its straight forward but if I'm going to need to buy a body harness and a different gem its prob not worth it....

Thoughts?

I always thought the gem modules were vehicle specific. Since your swapping all the wiring you would just need the gem for the wiring your using.

Re: xl to xlt...power options....

How about going from 2 power doors to 4 ? Does the gem care how many power windows the truck has or just IF it has them?.

Again, how about the body harness for the rear power, plugs already there or totally different harness??

Re: xl to xlt...power options....

if you run them inline with the passenger side i think it would be fine? seeing as though the double push on the remote for a crewcab opens the three passenger doors at the same time..?

I bought another six four.

Re: xl to xlt...power options....

keep looking they are out there! However it might be hard to find a complete clean body at a Salvage yard, maybe look at auctions for old white service trucks in XLT form.
