Newer Style Grill Fitment

I have a question that I am hoping someone can answer for me. I have a 2004 F350 that has a Ranch Hand front bumper and I want to switch out to the 05-07 style grill. I know that if I had the stock front bumper and valance that I would need to buy one of the modified grills that have material machined off of the bottom so it clears. What has me confused is that since I have a RH bumper with different spacing, can I use the stock one or need the modified one? I do not know anyone that has a 05-07 F series to use as a measure template. I do not want to spend the extra money on a machined one if it is not necessary but want to avoid buying a stock one and having it not fit. The modified one is over $100.00 more than a replacement stock one.
