Question about 05' Conversion

This might already be in a thread somewhere, but I couldn't find it.

I've got the 05' headlights, grille, header panel, and bumper to put on my 02'. The lights didn't come with any bulbs or wiring, just the headlights themselves. Is the GOS wiring harness all I am going to need? It states it won't work with daytime lights, but I've disabled mine by pulling the fuse. Will the harness still not work?

Re: Question about 05' Conversion

You'll need the headlamp bulbs and a different socket for the 194 marker bulb. The 99-04 trucks use a 90* socket and the 05-07 use a straight socket like this:

The marker light wiring will work fine, and the turn signal socket and wiring work fine too.

Can't help you on the DRLs since none of my trucks have them so I'm not sure if anything is different on them.

Re: Question about 05' Conversion

Cool, that helps, do you have the part number on those silverstar bulbs you used? I'd like to get some of these parts ordered so I have everything I need when I make the swap

Re: Question about 05' Conversion

Thank you. I'm assuming I can find the correct socket at just a parts house?

Another question, are the bumper brackets on the 05' bumper different than the current bumpers? Just wondering if I need to order the new brackets as well

Re: Question about 05' Conversion

I would think so, but I don't know since I've never had to buy them.

As long as you have the bulbs and sockets (the ones I bought from Ford and on ebay came with them all), then yes it's plug and play.

Are you talking about the main brackets behind the bumper that support it? Or the side brackets that mount to the sides of the bumper....

The bumper should come with the correct brackets. The older ones will not work. As far as the side brackets go. I never even used mine. My truck for some reason didn't have them with the older setup. So I never stuck them in...
