So I finally have a set of 05 Harley lights on the way, I ordered the conversion harness from GOS performance, does anyone have any install instrucions or pics that show what part of the header panel need to be cut out?

Re: 05 Headlight install question?

When I take the grille off (have a new one getting painted), I may remove one of the lamps just to get some better pics of the cut up header panel.

Why do you need the harness? You can get the bulb sockets changed for $20 to 9008 bulb sockets from http://www.suvlights.com/index.php?cPath=24_74

Re: 05 Headlight install question?

Heavy duty harness uses relays and pulls power directly from the battery to prevent a voltage drop by the time the power reaches the bulbs.

So how does the stock system handle it?

Re: 05 Headlight install question?

The stock system handles it fine, there just isn't as much power making it to the bulbs themselves.

I don't think the harness is that bad for the $69 price tag (just my opinion).
Especially if you plan to run higher wattage bulbs.

Re: 05 Headlight install question?

I've been considering some '05 Harley headlights too. Def. post pics when you get them in bigcountry. Do you have a trimmed '05 grille or did you get an '05 bumper too?
