Tailgate?

I seen a freind today loading his King Quad into 02' F250. When the tailgate cables broke, leaving a big crease across his tailgate. Now I am worried about mine doing the same. Is there any upgrades for the OEM cables?

Re: Tailgate?

Pull off the tailgate when loading a RV in. Set the ramps on the bed, not the tailgate. The tailgate is not designed for that much of a load. It shoule be though.

Re: Tailgate?

I say take an extra minute to just pull off the tailgate, that's what I do with mine when I load up an atv

Re: Tailgate?

The cables have a rubber coating on them, but it appears thay have rusted down inside. They actual broke almost right in the middle.

Re: Tailgate?

I think they might have had a recall on them at some point and time, but maybe they were just on back order nation wide, i really don't remember which one, gettin old! but as others have said, to load you should remove tailgate if possible.
