37s with stock 3.73 gears

Hey all,
I am a 2000 F250 4x4 with 6.5" of lift right now and the 35s I have under it seem really small. I want to jump up to 37s and was wondering how many of you all re geared in order to make 37s roll better. I don't/won't tow anything with the 37s and my truck is simply a daily driver. Do y'all think I should re gear or will I be okay with the stock 3.73s.

Re: 37s with stock 3.73 gears

I would regear.

I don't run 37s....but 38s with 3.73s sucked. I now run 4.56s and love the combo.

Re: 37s with stock 3.73 gears

I should clarify

I never had a problem moving or spinning 38s or anything.....just out of the powerband in gears and higher EGTs. EGTs dropped ~200* when I did the 4.56s.

I would def regear going to 37's, when I went from the stock 3.73 to my 4.56's it was a WORLD of difference!

Re: 37s with stock 3.73 gears

The reason I dont run 37's on my EX is that I dont want to regear it. 35's are almost too tall for the 3.73's IMHO.

True but for me driving the mountain grade up here I need just a little lower gear.

Re: 37s with stock 3.73 gears

JohnT is running 37s & 3.73s on his big crew cab & likes them. I think he had 4.56 on it one time & then switched back.
