COOPER DISCOVERER STT TIRES

Hey there,
i am interested in getting some new tires here pretty soon. I have toyo m/ts right now, but I don't know if i can spring the extra coin again. I am wondering if anyone has had experience with the COOPER DISCOVERER STT TIRES? I would be getting them in a 35x12.5x17. Let me know!

Re: COOPER DISCOVERER STT TIRES

When I looked at them I was told they are a soft winter compound and do not have a long life on hot pavement.

I went with Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos. My buddy loves his Toyo's. I have no experience with Toyo.

Re: COOPER DISCOVERER STT TIRES

The STT seems to hold up fairly well. I know a bunch of people running them and they are all very happy with them. They are also built in the USA, which is rare for anything much less for tires these days.

Re: COOPER DISCOVERER STT TIRES

I have a couple of friends that run the sts. They ride nice and wear ok. They are alot louder than the toyo. I worked at discount tire co for 7 years. I am very anti toyo. But I have to say I am very impressed by my toyo mts. Also the cooper in your size only come in load range D. If you are towing something heavy they will not work. This is all dependant on what you tow. The toyos come in load range E. The heaviest they make for light truck applications.

Re: COOPER DISCOVERER STT TIRES

I run 37-13.50R16 STT's and love em. Granted, up here in AK we do not have to worry about hot pavement as much. Even if they are only a Load Range D tire, Just be sure and check how much weight they will carry in comparison to how much weight you will be carrying.
