Tranny temp gauges doesn`t work!

My tranny temp gauge has been installed on my truck since fall of 2002, it move alittle at first it would go just a little past 100 degrees. But after that (less than a year) it just stop moving all together. I did chech and it seams to be connected right at the gauge inside the truck. i also took the sender unit out of the tranny and it did have fluid on it and fluid did weep out. I cleaneed the sender threads and reinstalled it. still no movement. Waht do you all think? Just go buy a new one or what? Thanks for any and all input!!

Re: Tranny temp gauges doesn`t work!

If the sender is tapered and you put tape on the threads that might be it.

I pulled the sendr out and it`s tapered , but I took a wire brush and cleaned the treads and reinstalled it without any tape.

What kind of gauge is it? Does it have a two wire connection or a one wire connection?
