Security and dead batteries, jj's changing door handles

With tons of break in threads posted lately and Ford now being the number one stolen vehicle my mind started turning. So Ive been thinking of adding jimmy jammers and rear door handles to my front doors. Im also aware of the potential for a dead battery which would make the keyless entry worthless. (This was brought on by my recent weak batteries)

What Im thinking of doing is running a piece of battery cable out the grill and mounting a battery jumper terminal on a plate behing my grillguard. Something like this.

Ill just need the positive since the neg will go to the frame. This way if my batteries ever go belly up I can at least get the doors unlocked.

Any pitfalls you can think of with this setup?

seems like a good idea. Those terminals work good. I have them installed on the back bumper of my camaro, it makes it much easier to charge the battery.

Or you can use them to jump someone else off and not have to open the hood.
