looking at an 01 have a few questions

like it says im lookin at a clean 01 ccsb with a 103k on it and am trying to figure out if it has pmr's the build date is 10/00 and i cant remeber when they made the switch. also if i get it im planning on doing the 05 front end and want to be able to turn the fogs on with my runnning lights and wonder how i would go about doing that. thanks guys another thing would my BTS out of my obs work with it?

well, yours falls right about the "day of the switch" (10/16/00) so the definative way for you would be to pull the plug...

7.3 Inspection Hole for Powdered Metal Rod Determination

...there are a few out there that arent supposed to have em, but do, and vice versa

yeah i know about the plug only problem is im in tennessee and the truck is in houston,texas and i dont wanna go all that way and it have pmr's

ah, well then have them give you the engine number...

#1425747 thru #1440712 are PMR's

...and everything above 1498318 are PMR's as well

EDIT...i dont think the BTS will work, isnt that an E4OD???

I dont think the E4OD would work. Its likely PMR but COULD be forged. But yes, get the serial number and that SHOULD tell you. But honestly the 01's can be a horrible guessing game and IMO its not 100% which rods you have unless you actually pull the plug and check. But the engine number is next best thing. My truck is 10/00 also IIRC and yes, I have PMR

i wouldnt let PMR's stop me from buying a solid truck...

...of course thats depending on what your planning to do with her, but theres nuthin wrong with PMR's for the average joe

the plans are 275/200's and a 74/82 BFH and i guess i could always put forged in it when i get it,if it has pmr's
