Exterior Door Trim Removal

Hi guys.

The exterior rubber door trim strips on my PDS are peeling up at the ends. I've been thinking of just pulling them off. Has anyone done that and if so how does it look? What should I use to clean up the adhesive that will most likely be left behind?

Thanks.

Re: Exterior Door Trim Removal

Try doing it in the mid day sun and use a blow dryer to warm things up as you remove it. I removed one section just by randomly pulling it off and it left behind quite a bit of adhesive behind. The next day I waited till lateer in the day when it was hot and used the blow dryer, that time it left hadly any adhesive behind. I used turtle wax bug and tar remover, but what ever you use test it in a small unseen spot first.

Re: Exterior Door Trim Removal

Your truck looks a hell of a lot cleaner without them. This weekend is supposed to be wicked hot here so i'll wait till then.

Was there a difference in the paint that was under them (a shadow)?
