stack behind/in front of toolbox

im getting a single 7" black mitre.. i have a toolbox, naturally im gonna mount it in front of it. for you guys that have yours like that, how much space do you allow/do you use some sort of heat shield for the box/ and have any of you made something to cover the gap?

I have seen a few trucks where the stack went through the tool box, it looked really cool, he just welded block off plates in the box so his tools wouldnt touch the stack. He keeps oil and all kinds of crap in there and it doesnt get hot at all. He had a double open box so the middle of the box didnt move at all.

well that would be cool, but mine is just a normal sized, single door. and i need all the room i can get in it..

yepp, full oilfield rack, contimplating taking it off, but ill build another just a headache rack tho

If your going to have a headache rack i would do it in front (towards the cab) of the toolbox
