Those of you with Camper Tops/ Shells

I'm looking to completely redo the bed of my truck. I will most likely be converting my truck to a dually short bed from a single axle. But what I'm looking to do is carpet the bed and somehow insulate the camper shell so that I can camp in it. If anyone has any cool bed ideas, or have done this, please post up. Pictures are even better.

This is the beginning stage of planning so any and all ideas are welcome.

What are some things tthat you guys have done?

Re: Those of you with Camper Tops/ Shells

Mine just has rino lining and when camping I throw big airmatress in it that takes up the whole bed. The air makes a great insulator and is comfy. Then I can still haul firewood etc without worrying about messing up the bed covering - low tech but works for me :)

My camper shell isn't insulated. Haven't been camping in super cold weather, but for most stuff a warm sleeping bag will be fine I think.

The shell does have screened sliding windows which I find very nice for a bit of breeze in nice weather.

Those are one piece. The walls (sides and front wall by the cab) zip onto the bottom.
